2019 National Budget Consultations - Enhancing Efforts Towards Stabilising The Macro-economic Environment For Inclusive Socio-economic Development

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development has started 2019 National Budget consultations with line ministries. This was triggered by the Call Circulars with expenditure ceilings sent to line Ministries and the publication of the Pre-Budget Strategy Paper to guide the consultations on 8 October 2018.

Consultations with industry, civic society and development partners for the 2019 National Budget are still ongoing at the Ministry Offices.

From the 8th to the 10th of November 2018, a team of Treasury officials will take part in a Pre-Budget Seminar with Parliamentarians in Bulawayo whose theme is ‘Enhancing efforts towards stabilising the macro-economic environment for inclusive socio economic development’.

Business and civic organisations, economic analysts, Government Ministers and parliamentary committee heads will present their inputs and make recommendations to Treasury. The conference will debate public inputs gathered during the recent countrywide consultative meetings by the Portfolio Committee on Finance and Economic Development and Sustainable Development Goals Thematic Committee where provinces highlighted their areas of concern.
